"Forget the joke for a sec, how bout the execution?"
Needs a lot of work in the voice acting and comic timing departments. Honestly, that interaction between the two characters felt painfully fake. Then the part at the end was timed very slowly and awkwardly so you were not only well aware of what was about to happen, but you cringing at the thought of just how obvious and lame it was. Maybe that joke could have been very funny if it was well-executed, but that's something we'll simply never know... unless we watch American Dad! =D

"If I rated flash based on voice acting alone..."
Well, it seemed like conceptually you could have gone somewhere cool with this. I can't help but feel that you fell very short of that. I saw some compliments specifically on the voice acting in a review and thought, aw I better check this out. I cannot understand why, of all things, the voice acting would stand out to someone. Aterga101, try as she did, gave a very deadpan performance and destroyed some potentially funny lines. It sounded like a dry read throughout and was spoken hastily and with little emotion. To her defense, perhaps the script needed some proofing. I can sympathize that sometimes the scriptwriter's first language isn't English, but that shouldn't stop you from getting a proofreader.
I am not obsessed with animation technique, but this seem to very little art in it and rather a small collection of symbols (mostly those making up Samus) tweened to the point that it become very obvious and unsettling.
Grats on your awards and front pages though. You clearly impressed a lot of other people who weren't me and that's just dandy.
Author's Response:
Yeah, I do know those facts, Im trying to add some expression things like if Samus is supposed to say "stop that". I write "annoyed" next to it.
But voice acting isnt that easy thing afterall since I always screw up with optimization so even if the voice acting is good, they complain that voices are too quiet etc etc.
Thanks for your opinion anyway TomaMoto.

Now I'm hearing all this nasty talk about how the voice I chose for the "Game Over" is the lousiest most annoying thing you've ever heard. You probably hate it because it's smug and demeaning and raped your mom last night. Seriously, that's the point.
Apparently those complaining want to be rewarded for LOSING with a nice pleasant women saying "Game over, here's some milk and cookies. I'm still proud of you, you special little guy." Sorry, Charlie. I'm not your mommy.

Oh, and I thought the game was really fun. Great choice of songs and definitely a challenge. It's very amusing being insulted by myself every time I screw up. Best of luck to you with the competition!

"Weak humor only worsened by low audio quality"
So apparently this is an inside joke and it's Luis day and blah blah blah... but I still thought this submission was fairly weak. The single joke that comprised this whole thing felt tiresome and overdone. To be quite honest, every time I heard LUIS*BARJARBLEPOP!*, I cringed. Maybe it's cause I'm such a voice acting fanatic, but I simply can't give this flash a high score. Sorry, mate.
Glad you've still got enough fans to give you this admirable score. I guess I'm just missing out on the whole deal with Luis's Mexican heritage being funny.

"TomaMoto Raves! "A stunning tour de force!""
With a background in always-agreeable good old-fashioned humor, bbqbeefburger man takes the next step to stardom in his latest NG debut, BBQ-Town 2500.
The new color elements were surprising and welcome. The plot was classic.
And the new song... I'd like to say I've been singing it all day, but I got it early, so it turns out I've been singing it all week! Awesome job, Darkside555 and Bad Man Inc! Maybe some time we can get together and do a director's cut with with the authentic bbq voice. It won't be as good as the original, for sure, but it might prove amusing.
You certainly don't dissapoint, bbqbeefburgerman. Keep it up!

Then again without your amazing voice acting talent my movies wouldnt be quite as sexy. :o

Children of the 80s rejoice! This is your one-stop reference drop! Seriously, tons of twist and turns and laughs along the way for 80s kids and Harry Potter readers alike. Do be sure to watch the whole thing, now! Clearly a LOT of effort went into making this.

At first I thought... why no backgrounds? Why is it all white... Then it occured to me that in the more recent Apple commercials, there really only is a white backdrop, so that seems fair enough. Anyway yeah, Apple does prey on the whole, "look how hip all of our expensive crap is" angle. Good job. Funny flash. Nice choice of music.
It was a pleasure voicing it and a unique experience actually having to do a rap...
Author's Response:
I will force more raps on you Josh, Don't worry.
Full scale raps :3.

I dunno why I'm seeing so many nasty reviews for this. I thought it was pretty funny. Do you guys not like the jpeg-esque animation style or something? I'd rather watch Ackbar than 75% of the shows currently airing on Adult Swim. That seems like a fair comparison since it airs the majority of animation intended for the same demographic as this flash. The voice acting was overall way better than 95% flashes I've seen on NG and the fact that I'm in the cast has nothing to do with my opinion on that matter. I think the animation style only adds to the zany sense of humor which I have come to adore.

"Great animation, lead voice is lacking..."
May I first say, as a voice actor, that the main female in this piece did wonderfully and that I loved the quality and style of the animation. The voice of Throwback, however, leaves very much to be desired. Issues with recording (like the voice suddenly getting unintelligible as if the actor was leaning in and out from the microphone) and acting (because I just couldn' feel much personality to be honest) really hurt the show. I hope to see more of this but only if the lead voice actor will work on his recording consistency and acting (or be recast). Sorry to harp on the negative points as I really found this flash to be otherwise quite admirable. It's just that voice acting is very important to me personally and I want to let you know that it was a very obvious flaw in what would have otherwise been an airtight flash.

I just wanted to say that I could really relate to this whole piece, despite the overexaggeration of realism, which worked beatifully by the way. The level of personality that these characters posess is one of those things that really helps it stand out. This really livened up my night. Thank you very much for that.
