So Big Apple Con was a blast! Staying and bumming around with all those hot shot newgrounders was tons of fun. It was so fun in fact, I was totally able to block out all memories of an inebriated Krinkels wanting to physically and emotionally violate me...

SO anyway, everyone out there was great. I don't know the financial details, but morally, I'd say Big Apple Con 2008 was a huge success for newgrounds. Hanging around with all the contributers and fans was great and the only thing that could have made it greater would have been a place for all the visitors to sit down.

As a side note, I'm strongly considering now trying to animate something on my own, even though I'm more than convinced that the artwork of whatever I make first will royally suck.

Thanks to everyone who made New York such a blast for me this weekend, I hope to do it again some time. Now here's a video from Sunday when things were kinda slow:

Get Arin to teach you. I've taught people who couldn't draw before, it's not something you NEED to know how to do to learn flash. If anything, knowing Flash is an inspiration enough to teach yourself how to draw. Though of course like anything it takes time.

I want to see pictures of BAcon. And not the edible kind.. hyuk hyuk.

Well, I know flash. I taught myself flash and simple AS back when I was like 12 or 13. I just suck at drawing and honestly just have very little experience animating.

And come talk to me on skype some time. I'll show you BACon pics. Though, I'll also be sending them to Luis for his mini-site.

thanks for comin out, im glad we were able to kick it on a deeper level than when we ran into each other in that other convention a few weeks ago.

Tom and everyone appreciates your enthusiasm and effort behind the booth. It really is quite admirable cause nobody was paid to be there or required to but you all really took it seriously and pitched in to make it work. So ya

Dude i wish I could have gone, it looks so fun. Maybe Ill save my money up for next year to meet everyone so I can travel down there. As far as animation goes Toma, I think you can do it man. All it takes is time and imagination. If you need help learning how to draw I'm always a Skype text away (when i'm not at work). Oh yeah, did I tell you I was working on a cartoon. Collin and the Wishing Tree (oh snap). two and a half years animating and I finally managed to get a cartoon network look. Man, its looking great. Anyways, you should check out tutorials here or at cartoonsmart.com where I first started off. It teaches alot even though the teachers stlye isnt something i'd adopt. Well, peace out man :P

i was strongly considering it till i found out all the 4 day passes were sold out. Also, I've been spending so much on traveling and I found out there won't even be a newgrounds booth at SDCC.

Not going saves me money anyway. Anime Expo 08 will be my last con for a while, methinks.

I was seriously considering the London meet. All depends on my financials as that approaches. That was actually me saying balls in Mastermind 3 (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal /view/432902). Pure coincidence that it was playing on the TV when I started recording the video.

Sales were pretty good on Saturday thanks to the awesome fans that showed up. Sunday, the whole con was generally not super crowded, though there was sort of a rush toward the end. I guess people wanting to ensure that they went home with something. Sorry to throw a plug in here, but the tankmen figures are totally awesome. Totally get one if you have a spare 20 bucks at any point... that's about 10.24 GBP. ;D

As far as a DBZ dub, that could happen. Ego actually proposed a DBZ dub originally, but for whatever reason we wound up doing Naruto. Go figure.

I'm sure you'll get the hang of flash pretty fast- most likely way faster than I ever did.
And until you can pull off something beautiful, you can just wing it with the numerous methods of animating that look decent and accomplish what's necessary and are really easy (various styles pull this off- South Park, Egoraptor, standard beginner multi-body-part flash tweening, etc).

Wish I could have been at Big Apple Con. Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves.

Tom and Afro Ninja look classy as usual. MindChamber however (think that's him) appears quite tired and not in his usual trim shape. I need to call his mom and tell her he's not getting enough time outside these days.

Not really. I'm not motivated my whining. This is inspired more by how much I've come to care for this community and my desire to join the ranks of the various great NG animators whom I respect. Also, it'd be really nice to be able to make entire cartoons on my own.
